I am Alex Kabengwa, 28 years an artist who is mostly doing DIY (do it yourself), Craft and Painting. I learnt art through school up to University but I grew up from a family of Artisans. My parents; My Father was heading an Institution teaching Art and Craft while my Mother was doing Ceramics, Weaving using Banana fibres and teaching some fellow women on some skills for survival. These were doing art on a small scale for sale and home use. Nature is my source of my inspiration; I mainly paint animals both Domestic and Wild game while Wood for sculpture. I love my art as a source of relaxation but to also inspire people especially the Youths on ways of Survival.My art speaks to everyone; for example in my DIY art pieces, each of them must functional such as Sculpture in a Center table. In this picture (mural) painting on a wall; I worked with a colleague at University, after they had renovated an old Water Tank and we decided to make it reusable. The abstract on the mural is about Christian faith (a person can be filthy and dirty but will be cleansed and renewed-born again) This was the same to the old dirty Water tank but now renovated to a new and nice looking Mural and this is expressed in the painting.
