The Zinna Dress

design

some text

My name is Udochukwu Grace Precious. I am a Nigerian fashion designer and a graduate of Nnamdi Azikiwe University. Growing up, my mother upcycled garments for my sisters and I, ensuring we always had something beautiful to wear to church. This sparked my passion for garment creation. I was determined to craft as many dresses as possible for myself and for every other woman in need of a gorgeous outfit. Creating pieces felt so magical to me and prompted me to pursue formal training in Lagos, Nigeria, after completing my secondary education. This dress is called "Zinna Dress”, it’s a stunning corset piece. This dress features a black net fabric and a bra cup to create the corset effect. The design process began with drafting a sleeveless corset bodice and a skirt on brown paper. After perfecting the measurements, I transferred these patterns to the main fabric, cut them out, and assembled the corset. I then attached the bra cups, added draping sleeves, and finally connected the skirt to the upper bodice. This meticulous process resulted in the Zinna Dress that make heads spin at any special occasion. The dress also earned me numerous referrals. To view more timeless pieces, click the link below.
