I am Justina Otchere i am a proud Ghanaian. I hold bachelor of technology degree in industrial arts.i love to use different materials in making things to decorate my room with the different techniques of weaving. my project is a hand weaved table mat. It is weaved with a satin ribbon and the technique i used is twill weave.Twill weave is a type of weave that is characterized by its diagonal weave pattern. It is created by weaving warp and weft threads in a specific way which gives the fabric a distinctive and durable texture and it is one of the main types of textiles weave .It can be woven in variety of materials such as cotton, wool, silk and others.some qualities and benefits are strength,texture,flexibility ,variety,durability,versatility,and easy care. Its uses and how to care for them are as follow it is used for making pants and jackets,backpack and bags, curtains and upholstery, bedding. How to care for it is by air drying, machine wash in cold water, avoid harsh chemicals getting in contact with it and do not tumble dry.The table cloth was backed with stiff it make it firm and the edges piped to prevent it from removing.
