Stephen Akrofi is my name. I’m a 28 year old Ghanaian national who is into crafting and designing of shoes, slippers and other types of footwear. I have a degree in Information Technology from the University of Ghana, Legon. I ventured into this business while on campus because I I’ve always had the passion for designing things and bringing them to life. My first design was widely praised by my colleagues and therefore I decided to make it a business. By dint of hard work, and with little funding, I’ve been able to establish a crafting business. My business revolves around shoe design and shoemaking, blending artistry with craftsmanship to create footwear that is both aesthetically striking and functionally superior. I begin my creating process by studying current fashion trends. Sketching ideas is my first step, followed by prototyping to ensure comfort and durability. Each shoe I create is a fusion of traditional shoemaking techniques and modern innovation, where every element, from the sole to the stitching, reflects a balance of style and utility. My work focuses on delivering unique, handcrafted footwear. I have a dream, and the dream is to have a shoemaking and designing factory that employs thousands of people. In my own little way, I have employed two people helping me do the crafting, designing, production and also deliveries of orders that we get. The bigger dream is to become a household name in Ghana.
