some text

About the author: born 1982-08-11 in Winter veldt north of Pretoria, where a Ndebele little boy grew up on the dusty gravel roads of Chokwe stands, made drawings of the infamous stick people on the sand and that is where the art bug began to bite, in a house hold of 10 people my dad, mom, 4 brothers, 3 sisters and me being the youngest of the bunch, 1984 moved to BEIRUT houses build next to Mabopane by the old Bophuthatswana government and start the journey to now pre-school and school, that is where the art grew to now making sketches on house walls and papers, felt the world is mine to conquer. •It was a constant battle of creativity as being the youngest of 8, most of worn clothes were passed down to me had to be creativity as to now beautify the clothes to stylize them somehow, art materials being expensive I sometimes used left over paint (enamel, water-based paints) to paint some of my first ever artworks also using HB pencils to make my pencil sketches. I started entering art competitions at middle school to showcase my talent and won to showcase at next level in Mma Bana Mahikeng North west, that is when now the love for art grew bigger and bigger and I won 1st price and still have the trophy till now. •Learned to make art with almost anything, using wood for sculptures, newspapers for paper Mache art and other thing that was at my disposal, just a young boy who loves art and knows art loved him back. About the business: In 2016 Kanvas Arts was registered to start making my dream a reality, absurdity came when people both young and old were asking me to start art classes for them and their kids, the showed me that this can now run as an entity and also sell my artworks professionally and be part of the community builders and eventually nationwide. •Kanvas Arts will host local community exhibitions where upcoming artists will showcase their work and also art events, also art competitions and art fund raising. Collecting artworks is also one of the activities that Kanvas Arts will like to invest in in future. •2015 sneaker customization came into play when I started putting paint on a sneaker, it all started when paint fell on my converse all-stars tekkies and to try fix them I made art magic on them to cover the paint damage. I started customizing sneakers, high heels, jean jackets and t-shirts for clients who loved art in motion and the business started growing, one of my customized sneakers was on display in Germany under a company Manduweand also in Innibosnational arts festival craft awards 2017, and the sneaker art is in their 2017 art booklet. I experimented on clothing as well eg: t-shirts, jean jackets, caps etc, it was and still is a great experience and that will be part of the skills transfer at Kanvas Arts.
