Behind the scenes

paintingweavingsculpturetechnique

some text

Fortune Esedinam Adiraki Gbolo is my name and my project deals with terrains of interconnections in relation to human movements and uncertainty of life among young adults. The work inculcates the practice of appropriating the Sirigu wall paintings and producing embroidered sculptural wall tiles out of that. Using thread as a paint on metal contradicting the usual practice where many use paint on supports like canvas, wood panel, paper, and glass with the brush or palette knife functioning as the painting tool, in my context the needle functions as my painting tool. Putting into play techniques like cutting, welding, tying, threading, twisting, joining and sewing the artwork for a successful completion
